This Blog
I started
this Blog to share tips, news, reviews, pictures and thoughts about
Pullip, BJD and MH dolls with other doll lovers around the world. I want
the doll passion make come more alive on the internet since compared to other collections there are only a few people around the globe
following this hobby. It's a way to swap ideas on those dolls with other collectors and maybe even catch other people's interest.
Me
I am a 19 year-old girl, living in Germany, mainly
collecting Pullip dolls. Besides German and English I can speak Japanese
and a little bit of French. Please don't be mad if I do any languages mistakes in my blog since English is just my second language.
Next to dolls my interests are languages, travelling, books/comics, movies, other cute stuff and music.

The Dolls
1. Pullip & Friends
Pullip and her Friends (Dal, Taeyang, Isul, Byul, Yeolume & Namu) are Asian fashion dolls currently manufactured by Groove. The dolls are characterized by their propotions as they have a 1:3 scale head on a 1:6 scale body, but they are not to be confused with Blythe or Tangkou dolls.
They also have an eye mechanism that allows to move their eyes to the left and right. Except for Dal, Byul and Yeolume, dolls that are released starting from Feburary 2007 can close their eyes and stay closed. Dolls that are released earlier can only blink.
Since 2003 there are always new dolls released with different topics wigs, face ups and clothing.
Some doll collectors also like to customize their doll to create an own unique one by changing wigs, doing own face ups, chaning their eye chips and giving them new clothes.
2. Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD)
Ball Jointed Dolls are dolls that are made of resin and mainly produced in Japan, Korea and China. Because of their joints there are a lot of possibilities to position those dolls in realistic positions. Since there are lot of different brands producing those dolls their appearance can vary a lot. They differ from each other by size (10cm or less - 70 cm or more), body types (e.g. male/female), face ups, wigs, eye chips etc.
The following doll ist just an example from a much wider variety of dolls.
3. Monster High (MH)
Monster High are dolls created by Mattel, the same brand that produces Barbie.
The dolls represent daughters and sons from famous monsters of movies, fictions and myths like Frankenstein, Dracula, Loch Ness, Zombies, Big Foot etc.
Although the target group of Mattel are children around 6-13, the dolls also appeal to a lot of adult collectors.
